Summer Fun

Wow, we are really gearing up for high school seniors now!  This is the time of year when their tans look fabulous and they are ready to pull a little rank as a SENIOR ---and their first order of business is to get  awesome senior portraits made so they will have the wallets back in time for the first day of school!  And we will help them do it - in spite of this oppressive heat wave.   With the a/c waiting for them  between clothes changes and cool drinks chillin'  we'll get it done!  Looking forward to a few very busy weeks ;)

As if this isn't busy enough, I'll be helping my two girls move from one condo to another at about the same time.  Ahhh life.....it happens....and it's too hot for golf anyway :D

Time flys....when you're busy!!

Can't believe I've let a month pass since my last post :(   Bear with me, though, I am getting better.
The State Convention for Professional Photographers was, as always, amazing!  Great info, tips, and new product offerings. It always rejuvenates me to be more creative and productive and that's a good thing because, since then, things have been soooooo busy around here - and that's an even better thing! Maybe this economy is slowly beginning to turn around after all.

What a variety of photographic events we've had....Cotillion Balls, children, adults, restorations, and a 100 year celebration in our church  - they are all milestones in this life we live.  What better way to capture these memorable events in our lives than with a photographic portrait? The baby's 1st birthday, the high school senior, the bride, or that 50th birthday. It's these photographic images that will one day be the windows to the past for this next generation.  Many times we don't realize the importance of these current day images until we happen upon those old, faded and wrinkled photographs from many years ago. They take us back in time and, once again, we "remember when....."
Several clients have brought in old photographs to be repaired and restored for  upcoming Mother's Day and Father's Day gift ideas.  It's at this stage that they realize how fortunate they are that an ancester made the effort to have the portrait created many years ago in the first place.
By the way, that's me (above in image at top left) with my Mom, Papa, and Great Grandmother - four generations!

Around here, in the Sorrell household, we have exciting things happening. My youngest daughter graduates from college in May and my oldest daughter finishes her second year of law school.  Yeah!!!!   Their Dad and I are very proud parents!
As for me, I'm trying to play golf as often as my schedule will allow ;)

Until next time, seize the day and make it a memory!

State Convention

Well, I'm off to the Professional Photographers of North Carolina annual state convention!  It's a week long event with seminars on the latest and greatest things going on in the photography industry. In addition to all of the seminar info, I'll also get a chance to chat and catch up with many fellow photographer friends. Long days - (8am- 10pm)  mean that  I'll be worn out from mental overload when I return home - but it's so worth it!

So tune in next week when I'll have lots of  new ideas to share with you!

Until then, I'm off to see the wizards.......all of them!

I skipped winter!

Yes, my last post was in October! - I'll make a retroactive New Years resolution to be more committed to blog posts this year :) So now that it's nearly the end of February, one can safely say my Blog "skipped" winter. I've had my bit of snow for the season and so now..... my blog and I am ready for warm weather.

This winter I've been updating brochures, reworking product offerings and photographing babies.

I am so excited about the new items we will be including in our children's and senior packages. Can you say 'Books"! Baby books, senior books and various other types of books according to your needs. There are beautiful, custom designed, books that feature a baby's first year including images from 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. Then there are books for those high school seniors who want to be able to keep a memento of their senior portrait session also custom styled to a seniors taste!

There are so many other new items we can't talk about them all here so ......... call us and let us tell you about what's new at Ronda Sorrell Photography
A photographic memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, and the things you never want to lose.
